How dry needling works?

Working in the office and working out in the gym tends to overload a particular part of our body. The overloaded tissue becomes inflamed, leading to the development of joint stiffness and fascial irritation.

Dry needling is a technique applied to stimulate changes in soft tissue quality. The needles stimulate blood flow to recuperate tissue fascia and to achieve subsequent pain relief.

Areas of needling:

  • Myofascial trigger points.

  • Joint capsules and other soft tissues.

The result is a relaxed muscle and diminished tissue inflammation.

Here in Sydney Health Physio, we integrate the practice of dry needling with massage and exercises to accelerate recovery.

Dry needling is often helpful for neck pain, shoulder pain, and hip pain. The treatment technique itself is painless and effective on tight, overactive, irritated tissue.
