Glute Extension in 4 Point Kneeling

Muscles used in this exercise

  • Gluteus maximus to kick leg up

  • Core and glute muscles muscles to stabilise hip

Purpose

  • activate glute muscle while stabilising your hip in space

To do this exercise

  • keep your spine neutral

  • squeeze your Glute muscle first, then kick your feet towards the ceiling

  • you should feel muscle contraction in your hips not your lower back

  • don’t let your hip drop as you lift your legs up
